EPHAKS (formerly EPHS) is a medical-scientific society that gathers specialized surgeons and specialists in pelvic bone, hip, and knee joint injuries and diseases. The Egyptian pelvis and hip society (EPHS) was established in 2011 after the cooperation of a group of visionary surgeons who recognized the need for a dedicated society focused on the pelvis and hip conditions in Egypt. After the successful propagation and the growing interest in knee joint diseases, in 2024, the knee joint was added to the society's agenda. It was then transformed into the Egyptian Pelvis, Hip and Knee Society (EPHAKS).
The society seeks to enhance orthopaedic surgeons' scientific level and skills while facilitating the exchange of expertise with those interested in pelvic bones and hip and knee surgery.Â
