EPHAKS (formerly EPHS) is a medical-scientific society that gathers specialized surgeons and specialists in pelvic bone, hip, and knee joint injuries and diseases. The Egyptian pelvis and hip society (EPHS) was established in 2011 after the cooperation of a group of visionary surgeons who recognized the need for a dedicated society focused on the pelvis and hip conditions in Egypt. After the successful propagation and the growing interest in knee joint diseases, in 2024, the knee joint was added to the society's agenda. It was then transformed into the Egyptian Pelvis, Hip and Knee Society (EPHAKS).

It is a great honor to serve as President of the Board of the Egyptian Pelvis, Hip and Knee (EPHAKS) Society, following the confidence placed in me by the Board of Directors. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Board members and to acknowledge, with deep appreciation, the previous presidents whose leadership was fundamental in founding and establishing our Society.
Over the coming years, our focus will be on expanding EPHAKS activities to better support orthopaedic surgeons in Egypt and the wider Middle East through education, training, and scientific collaboration. We also aim to strengthen regional and international partnerships with sister societies to promote knowledge exchange and professional development.
I am committed, together with the Board, to serving the interests of our members and to working tirelessly for the continued growth and success of the EPHAKS Society.

Over the years, these partnerships have resulted in numerous successful joint congresses, fostering valuable knowledge exchange and significantly contributing to hip and knee surgery advancements.

With profound sorrow, the EPHAKS board of directors and members extend their deepest condolences on the passing of Prof. Raof Alabassy. He was a model of dedication and excellence in his field. He is one of the pioneers who founded the EPHAKS and was a board member from its birth till his decease.
